Sootra means thread — and in Sanskrit, it also means a line worth remembering. That double meaning is the whole idea behind this store. We print words worth wearing.

I grew up around printing. My family has run a small workshop in Karol Bagh, Delhi for years, making badges and printed goods for schools, weddings, campaigns and companies across the city. I spent a lot of time watching orders come through — someone's wedding, someone's first day at a new office, a slogan someone believed in enough to put on five thousand pins. It taught me something simple: people don't buy printed things. They buy the thing the print says about them.

Sootra started because I kept looking for t-shirts with lines I actually wanted to wear, and kept finding the same two options — cheap prints that faded after three washes, or good ones priced like a night out. So we built the middle. Every Sootra product is printed on demand, in India, one piece at a time. Nothing sits in a warehouse. Nothing gets made until someone actually wants it — which means no waste, no minimums, and no compromise on the print itself.

We're a small operation, and we'd rather be honest about that than pretend otherwise. What it means in practice: your order is checked before it ships, a real person answers when you message us, and if something arrives wrong — wrong size, faded print, damaged in transit — we replace it. No arguing, no forms. We're building this to still be here in five years, and that only happens one satisfied customer at a time. If we get something wrong, tell us. We'd rather fix it than lose you.
